Always going to go with Hagar. He just has a more interesting voice, in my opinion. I also think that Van Halen put out better written songs during the Hagar era. Roth will always be the better showman though. I’ve got to give him that.
I’m going to go with Alicia on this one. While Diamond Dave is one hell of a showman, Van Halen were just a much tighter band with Hagar at the helm, and I prefer his smoother voice also.
Although I would have loved to see DLR do his roundhouse kicks back in the day, the music Van Halen made with Sammy Hagar was better. But, that’s just me.
