Video of the Week – Gone Sovereign
Stone Sour appears to be releasing a new album in the near future. I am not exactly sure of the date, but a new video release is a good indicator something new is around the corner. They have a new video for a track called Gone Sovereign, featured for this week’s Video of the Week. Stone Sour’s last album, Audio Secrecy, was one of the very first reviews we ever wrote here at A Metal State of Mind – we have been up and running for just a tad over two years. Where do you stand when it comes to Stone Sour? Do you prefer Slipknot?
As far as this new song, I dig it. I like the guitar solo about halfway though the song. Overall, it’s a much more heavy vibe than anything off of Audio Secrecy. I think you might like it too. Based on this song, I am looking forward to their next release. Have a great weekend.

I have heard just two tracks of Audio secrecy back when it came out and knew I wouldn’t like it. You’re right, this sounds harder again. Maybe I will check it out, because I loved the band once. The first album will always be my favorite although the second is good too.
But I like the coarseness of the debut. And since Corey takes singing lessons his voice has lost power (in my opinion).
