R.I.P. MCA Adam Yauch

While primarily a hip-hop group, the Beastie Boys never shied away from embracing the stylings of metal from time to time.  The contributions they made to music as a whole is staggering as the blurred as what could be done with music as they openly embraced many, many different styles.  Most importantly when they came out they sought to bridge the race gap in hip hop as 3 three small white New Yorkers garnered fans from all races and making race a non-issue in their music.  Their positive lyrics and upbeat attitude was and still tons of fun along with their timeless music.

After being diagnosed with cancer in 2009, one of the founders of the Beastie Boys, MCA Adam Yauch, lost his battle today.  His positive energy will live on forever in his music and he will never be forgotten for what he has done with music and also as a humanitarian in general.  Off the stage he was a big supporter of many charities often using his star power to raise money for the less fortunate.  Thank You Sir MCA Adam Yauch, may your rest in peace.
