Monday Metal Madness – Black in Black

Last week it was the Trolls that edged out the Orcs and Goblins in the Monday Metal Madness poll.  The week before that, it was Staind that reigned supreme in the Least Worst Of poll.  Thank you for playing along in our little voting games.  We appreciate your continuous support and as always, if you feel there is a topic you think we should set up a poll for, please let us know.  We would be happy to do whatever research necessary and make it happen.

This week I have been thinking about classic albums that still hold their weight in gold today.  You know the ones I am talking about; the albums that made a huge impact in Rock or Metal.  The one in particular I have on my mind today is Black in Black by AC/DC.  When I listen to this album I can hit random knowing full well any song that comes up it is a kick-ass song.  If they ever told anyone they were going to play this album live in its entirety it would be a huge tour.  They may have done it already; I haven’t been paying attention.  It would be awesome!  So, for today’s poll which song on this album is your favorite and why?  Please cast your vote and let us know what you think in the comments box.  For bonus I know of two movies that featured only AC/DC music it its soundtrack.  Can you name them?

  1. I’ll be honest and say, AC/DC bore the crap out of me. But there is one song that is special to me and it’s “You Shook Me All Night Long”. Me and my wife have a running joke with that tune as when she first heard it, it was with me and she started laughing her ass off and I wondered why. She had taken the chorus very literally not immediately catching the slang (she’s not English mother tongue). So to her the song was about a guy literally shaking the crap out of a woman all night long. So now when we hear it or it gets referenced we need to do our worst Brian Johnson nasally voice impression while we shake each other. So fuckin’ cute, ain’t it 😉

  2. It’s a perfect album, I agree. Perfect music and lyrics. When they made songs about Rock’n’Roll it wasen’t a cliche like it is mostly nowadays. I picked Hells bells because of it’s epic beginning. AC/DC were a great band, but after For those about to Rock they really have said and done everything an were starting to repeat themselves (on a declining level). But the first albums are brilliant. Highway to hell and Powerage are also awesome from the beginning to the end.

And nice “You shook my all night long”-Story. Should be fun to see and a bit disappointing for all who doesn’t know whats going on 🙂

    • I dont really listen to them much especially since this album. Even their latest album still sounds very much the same. Sometimes that’s good, like with Slayer, but I don’t think AC/DC were ever able to reach that level of magic they had on Black in Black.

@Housebroken – bummer you didnt like this one. That was a cool story though. Sometimes this little differences between languages can make for funny stories. One guy I new was married to a Turkish woman…one day she was telling him that she was spicy…what she was trying to say was that she was angry about something.
