Tales From Bandcamp: No Light by Horse Drawn Death Machine

Ohio’s Horse Drawn Death Machine have crafted on nifty blackened stoner/doom metal E.P. called No Light that exudes a monstrous sound in its ~20 minute runtime.  When I first started listening to this I had thought that it would be standard inbox fare, but by the time the first track ended I knew I was in for one hell of a ride.  The chaotic elements of punk rock and black metal give an overall raw and energetic feel to the blackened atmosphere while the hazy stoner rock sections add a bluesy and hypnotic dynamic to the 4 songs, especially in the mind melting tune “Early Graves” (seriously, if you’re strapped for time and can’t spend the 20 minutes listening to this, at least revel in the awesomeness of “Early Graves”).  The guitar solos throughout the E.P. are also fantastic adding a great deal of melody to the mix.  HDDM are certainly a band to watch as they carry quite an original sound with them in that machine they’re carrying around.  After going back and listening to their previous E.P. I do have to say that No Light is a massive improvement.  Given that the other E.P. was released less than a year before this one shows that the band are quickly rising to develop and improve their sound and I look forward to the next release by them.  Give a listen to the album, share it with your friends, and let us know what you thought down in the comments.  Enjoy!! Peace Love and Metal!!
